Hurricane Sandy is still very relevant in this area of NJ.  We are 5 and a half months in, and there is still a ton of work to do.  Our initiative has proven to be one of the more powerful community organizations on the ground here and below is an update on our groups effort.

Right after the storm, ERGO partnered with W4W to set up the ERGO distribution center as a logistics drop point for relief supplies and corporate donations that we distribute right into the hands of victims through a large network spanning from Long Island, NY to Ship Bottom, NJ.  To date, we have distributed over $3mm worth of relief supplies.  We have also distributed over $50k worth of safety supply kits which include proper 3m respirators, tyvek suits, gloves and goggles needed to enter these toxic spaces.  We work close with Jon Rose and W4W on multiple levels of our relief efforts and we will continue to do so until the funds stop coming in or until there is no more projects to work on.  Right now we have 14 tractor trailer containers in various locations set up as satellite relief supply centers.  As the need for clothing, food, baby supplies, water, hygiene products, blankets, etc slows down, we are filling them with construction materials that people can come and grab for free.  There are a ton of other partnerships coming together as we speak, and our relief efforts are unmatched in this area. After Sandy relief is complete, we plan to keep our organization going under the name, Restore Projects, and plan to work with schools and local communities nationwide to supply relief where needed.

Although ERGO is responsible for only a portion of the funds raised and total initiative, here is an impact report from our entire groups effort combined:
